Judiciary Chief Strengthens Ties with Chinese Counterpart in Landmark Meeting
Judiciary Chief Qolam-Hossein Mohseni-Ejei is currently in China to participate in a significant judicial forum meeting involving member countries of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO). During his visit, he emphasized that the West is attempting to impose its self-created narratives on various complex issues affecting the global community.
In his discussions, Mohseni-Ejei highlighted the issue of global challenges such as terrorism and human rights, noting that certain dominant powers often adopt double standards in addressing these issues. He remarked on the necessity for nations to unite against such narratives and cooperate in resisting the pressures from these influential powers.
“Through cooperation, we must neutralize the conspiracies that some arrogant powers are trying to impose on sovereign countries,” he stated firmly during his meeting with Chinese counterpart Zhang Jun.
The Judiciary Chief stressed the importance of enhancing judicial and legal capacities among SCO member states. He called for the development of collaborative frameworks to effectively combat:
- Terrorism
- Organized Crime
- Drug Trafficking
- Human Trafficking
- Cybercrime
In addition, he condemned the ongoing atrocities committed by the Israeli regime in Gaza, urging the SCO to take action to halt the crimes and genocide against the Palestinian people.
During the meeting with Zhang, Mohseni-Ejei expressed optimism regarding the relationship between Iran and China, stating that their rich civilizational heritage could significantly enhance bilateral ties. He noted, “The 25-year strategic document between Iran and China can create an important perspective in bilateral cooperation.”
He reaffirmed that both nations share a mutual goal of fostering global peace and security. The head of the Iranian judiciary underscored the significance of judicial and legal collaboration between Tehran and Beijing, suggesting that such partnerships could elevate their relations to unprecedented levels.
Mohseni-Ejei arrived in the southern Chinese city of Hangzhou on Monday, leading a high-ranking judicial delegation. He is set to deliver speeches at both the opening and closing ceremonies of the 20th summit of the heads of supreme courts from the nine SCO member countries. Additionally, he plans to engage in bilateral meetings with various counterparts during the event.
The SCO, which represents approximately 42% of the world’s population, is focused on developing joint initiatives across multiple sectors, including economic, political, security, defense, and notably, the legal-judicial sphere.
This meeting underscores the increasing importance of collaboration among countries in the face of global challenges. Mohseni-Ejei’s remarks resonate with the ongoing discourse surrounding the need for a unified approach to counteract the influence of dominant powers that seek to manipulate narratives for their agendas.
As the world grapples with complex issues, the call for multilateral cooperation and solidarity emerges as a critical theme in the discussions led by judicial leaders within the SCO framework. By fostering stronger ties and shared objectives, member nations aim to cultivate a more stable and secure environment for their citizens.
In conclusion, the ongoing judicial forum serves as a pivotal platform for member states to address pressing issues and collaborate effectively. The shared vision of enhancing legal frameworks and mutual assistance could pave the way for a more resilient and cooperative future among the SCO countries, thus contributing to a broader agenda of global peace and security.
