Platform 101 Showcases Iranian Digital Art at Expo 2025 Japan: A Cultural Revolution Unfolds!
In a remarkable showcase of digital art, Platform 101, led by director Mohammadali Famouri, stands as the sole representative from Iran and West Asia at the prestigious Expo 2025 Osaka-Kansai, Japan. They are prominently featured in the Projection Mapping section with their compelling artwork titled “Infinite Realms”, presented at the renowned Shining Hat Pavilion, as reported by IRNA.
“Infinite Realms” is not just an artwork; it is an innovative fusion of generative art, immersive soundscapes, and state-of-the-art mapping technology. This project delves into the fractal nature of the universe, uncovering interwoven patterns that exist in parallel worlds. With its monochromatic visuals, the piece invites viewers to explore the infinite dimensions of existence and self-reflection.
This collaborative effort, directed by Mohammad Ali Famori, features contributions from talented artists including Arash Masoum (generative art) and Ehsan Masoudian and Reza Famori (music and sound design). The artwork symbolizes fractal geometry within parallel universes, effectively bridging the realms of digital art and architecture.
“This marks a new horizon for Iranian artists to engage in international collaborations in the field of creative coding technologies in digital arts production,” stated Mohammad Ali Famori. “Platform 101 is the only digital art team from Iran and West Asia among 68 countries participating in the projection mapping program of Expo 2025 Japan, which is considered the most advanced event for image production and display in the field of digital arts. ‘Infinite Realms’ is set to be showcased several times at the iconic Shining Hat structure in Osaka during the Expo,” he elaborated.
Famori emphasized the platform’s aim to showcase and represent Iranian digital art on a global stage. “We hope that by participating in this event, we can present the technology and the systematic path that has been formed in Iran for creating artistic works,” he expressed.
Expo 2025 is a World Expo recognized and sanctioned by the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE), taking place in Osaka, Japan. The event commenced on April 13 and will run for six months, concluding on October 13. This marks Osaka’s second time hosting a World Expo, having previously done so in 1970. The anticipated visitor count is around 28 million.

The Shining Hat Expo Hall, with its impressive golden circular roof and robust walls, serves as a symbol for the entire Expo site. Each night during the Expo, projection mapping will light up the walls of the Expo Hall, transforming it into a stunning visual display.
