These efforts included vital environmental cleanups, ship traffic control, and seafarer certification, showcasing the agency’s commitment to enhancing maritime safety and efficiency.

The administration reported that a total of 1,538 ships visited Khuzestan ports during this period, receiving a comprehensive range of marine services across the province’s port complexes.

  • Vessel Traffic Control: More than 5,600 vessel traffic service (VTS) operations were conducted to effectively regulate ship movements.

  • Tugboat Operations: Tugboats assisted with over 8,000 operations, totaling around 24,000 service hours, primarily at Imam Khomeini Port.

In addition, the administration focused significantly on seafarer services, issuing more than 10,000 maritime documents. This includes:

  1. Seafarer ID books
  2. Certificates of competency
  3. Ancillary qualifications

This surge reflects the increasing demand for certified maritime professionals and the administration’s dedication to enhancing workforce readiness in accordance with national and international standards.

Furthermore, environmental protection initiatives were intensified during the year. The administration successfully collected:

  • 5,000 cubic meters of ship-generated waste
  • 2,500 cubic meters of oil waste from the province’s waters

Additionally, the authority conducted 142 marine pollution response operations, which were crucial for maintaining clean and safe waterways for navigation.

To ensure navigational safety, 2.5 million cubic meters of sediment were dredged from the Khurmousa waterway and adjacent port berths. These dredging operations are essential for preserving navigational depth and ensuring safe maritime access to key terminals in Khuzestan.
