Iran’s Bold Move: VP Announces Plans to Revitalize Sudan’s Industrial Sector

In recent discussions, First Vice President Mohammad-Reza Aref emphasized the importance of strengthening ties with Sudan, showcasing Iran’s commitment to collaborative efforts in industrial renovation within the African nation.

During a meeting with the visiting Minister of Industry of Sudan, Mahasin Ali Yagoub, Aref expressed his hopes for lasting peace and stability in Sudan. He noted that:

  • The resumption of embassy activities over the past year indicates a shift towards developing relations between Iran and Sudan.
  • Aref reaffirmed Iran’s readiness to enhance comprehensive ties with Sudan.
  • He appreciated Sudan’s cooperation on various regional and international issues, particularly concerning the Islamic world, including matters related to Palestine and Lebanon.

In response, Minister Yagoub highlighted the severe challenges faced by Sudan, stating that:

  • The country’s infrastructure has been significantly damaged.
  • Many citizens of Sudan have endured great hardships due to ongoing conflicts.
  • She called for Iran’s support to help Sudan overcome these pressing challenges.

Minister Yagoub is currently in Iran to participate in the Third Iran-Africa Economic Cooperation Conference, which is scheduled to take place from April 27 to May 1, 2025.
