The Iranian Blood Transfusion Organization (IBTO) has reported a significant increase in blood donations, with 1,435,183 donations recorded in the first seven months of the current Iranian year. This surge reflects a growing commitment to community health, particularly in provinces like Sistan-Baluchestan, Zanjan, and Fars. While women contributed about five percent of total donations, some provinces saw female participation exceed nine percent. Tehran led in donation volume, contributing over 16 percent. The WHO praised IBTO for achieving a 100 percent voluntary blood donation system, emphasizing the importance of community efforts in healthcare and the need for ongoing education to boost participation further.
