    Iran has experienced a significant increase in seismic activity, recording 158 earthquakes between August 30 and September 5, 2023. Among these, the most notable was a 4.6 magnitude quake in Kerman province. The data from the University of Tehran indicates 138 minor quakes under magnitude 3 and 18 between magnitudes 3 and 4. Yazd province reported the highest activity with 18 quakes. In the past year, Iran recorded 6,272 earthquakes, with 150 exceeding magnitude 4. This highlights the need for improved earthquake preparedness, as Iran is located in a highly seismically active region, accounting for a significant portion of global earthquake casualties.
