Iran’s W. Azarbaijan Achieves Milestone: Exports Surpass 2.5 Million Tons in Just 7 Months!

In a significant boost for the regional economy, West Azarbaijan province has made impressive strides in non-oil exports. According to Khaled Jangjoo, the observer of the Customs Office of West Azarbaijan, the province exported a remarkable 2.544 million tons of non-oil goods, valued at $1.658 billion, to 73 countries during the first seven months of the current Iranian calendar year, spanning from March 21 to September 22.

During this period, the province’s main exports included a variety of essential goods. Jangjoo emphasized that the top products exported were:

  • Steel ingots
  • Tiles
  • Ceramics
  • Ribbed rebar
  • Sponge iron

These products were primarily shipped to notable markets including:

  • Iraq
  • Turkey
  • United Arab Emirates (UAE)
  • Armenia
  • Afghanistan

Jangjoo also provided insights into the import activities within the province, highlighting that customs offices received 218,000 tons of goods, valued at $597 million, from 48 countries around the world. This reflects a balanced trade exchange that contributes to the economic dynamism of West Azarbaijan.
