The critically endangered Asiatic cheetah is receiving significant conservation efforts from Iran’s Department of Environment (DOE). Key initiatives include relocating domestic animals from cheetah habitats, improving road safety on the Tehran-Mashhad route, and establishing captive breeding programs. DOE representative Hamid Zohrabi noted that over 150,000 hectares have been cleared of domestic animals.
