Olarbek Sharshiev, director of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization’s (SCO) Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure, announced the “Sahand–Counterterrorism–2025” drill set for December 4 near Tabriz, Iran. This exercise aims to improve the operational readiness of participating nations against complex terrorist threats and marks the second joint counterterrorism drill since the SCO’s inception in 1996. Official invitations will soon be sent to member and observer countries. The SCO, now including Iran, India, and Pakistan, focuses on combating terrorism, extremism, and separatism, enhancing regional security through collaboration and shared efforts against security challenges.
