U.S. Demands Iran’s Surrender: President Declares No Interest in Negotiations

In a recent statement, President Masoud Pezeshkian criticized the United States for its lack of genuine intentions in engaging in negotiations with Iran. According to him, the U.S. aims to compel Iran to comply with its demands rather than pursue constructive dialogue.

During a gathering in Bushehr, located in southern Iran, President Pezeshkian raised questions regarding U.S. President Donald Trump’s true motives:

“We’re not saying that we don’t negotiate, but Trump can’t impose all kinds of sanctions on us and then speak of negotiating. Why would he block food and water and medicine from us?”

He emphasized that:

“They are not after negotiations; they want us to be submissive to them. But we won’t be made submissive.”

President Pezeshkian expressed confidence that the Iranian people could overcome challenges by relying on their own capabilities and following a clear roadmap. He stated:

“Enemies won’t be able to hinder our path. We will find our way.”

On a previous occasion, he also mentioned that Iran’s future should not depend on foreign powers. He encouraged Iranian youth to acquire skills and foster determination to tackle the nation’s issues.

Key points regarding U.S.-Iran relations include:

  • On February 5, Trump signed a memorandum to enforce “maximum pressure” on Iran.
  • Despite this, Trump has expressed a willingness to negotiate and reach an agreement with Iran.
  • In his first term, Trump withdrew the U.S. from a multilateral agreement with Iran.

President Pezeshkian criticized the inconsistency in Trump’s actions, stating:

“Trump’s actions contradict his words.”

Additionally, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, has cautioned against negotiating with Trump’s administration, deeming it imprudent.
