SP Achieves Milestone: 220,000 Barrels of Gas Condensate Produced in Just 9 Months!

In recent discussions, Behzad Salari emphasized the refinery’s crucial role in driving the country’s economic development. The refinery’s impressive output of over 220,000 barrels of gas condensate between March 21 and December 22, 2024, has significantly contributed to the national economy.

Salari noted, “Through high-quality maintenance and innovative efforts by our domestic experts and staff, the refinery also produced more than 10 million tons of ethane in the same nine-month period.” This achievement underscores the refinery’s commitment to excellence and sustainability in its operations.

During this period, the refinery processed an impressive 2 billion cubic meters of gas. Additionally, the production figures included:

  • 360,000 tons of propane
  • 240,000 tons of butane

These figures highlight the refinery’s significant contributions to the energy sector, demonstrating its capacity to meet both domestic and international energy demands.

In a bid to further enhance production, the refinery has taken proactive measures by collaborating with the Gas Transmission Region 2 management and electrical maintenance experts. A recent initiative focused on repairing five gas export turbines, which will undoubtedly bolster production capabilities.

Salari remarked, “During this year’s major maintenance period, over 5,000 work orders were successfully completed across various refinery units, thanks to the expertise and planning of our team.” This level of operational efficiency reflects the refinery’s dedication to maintaining high standards in its practices.

Moreover, Salari outlined several key health, safety, and environmental (HSE) initiatives undertaken by the refinery. These initiatives include:

  1. Conducting process safety studies
  2. Identifying and resolving process deficiencies
  3. Separating industrial and non-industrial zones
  4. Cleaning up contaminated soil in industrial areas to comply with the Clean Air Law

These measures not only ensure compliance with environmental regulations but also promote a safer working environment for all employees. Furthermore, the refinery has implemented comprehensive employee health programs, which feature:

  • Detailed nutritional profiles
  • Training sessions focused on health and safety

Salari also called upon the community to support refinery workers through the “2 Degrees Less” campaign, which aims to reduce indoor temperatures to relieve pressure on energy resources. He stated, “Given the challenging conditions faced by our operational staff, we ask our fellow citizens to join this initiative and help us by lowering the temperature in their homes and workplaces.”

This campaign not only supports the refinery’s operational needs but also fosters a sense of community responsibility towards energy conservation. The collaboration between the refinery and the public is essential for ensuring sustainable energy practices and protecting the environment.

As the refinery continues to innovate and adapt to changing conditions, its contributions to the national economy remain vital. The focus on high-quality maintenance, environmental health, and community involvement positions the refinery as a leader in the energy sector.

In conclusion, the refinery’s achievements in production and its commitment to health, safety, and environmental initiatives exemplify its integral role in the country’s economic landscape. Through ongoing efforts and community support, the refinery aims to further enhance its contributions and maintain its status as a key player in the energy industry.
