Payman Maadi Joins Esteemed Jury Panel at Marrakech International Film Festival!

Renowned Iranian actor Payman Maadi is set to join the esteemed jury at the 22nd Marrakech International Film Festival, scheduled from November 28 to December 6. This prestigious event aims to spotlight emerging international talent through its Official Competition featuring 14 first and second feature films.

The jury, consisting of eight influential figures from four continents and various generations, will evaluate these films, showcasing the festival’s commitment to celebrating global cinema.

At 55 years old, Payman Maadi has made a significant mark in the film industry as both an actor and filmmaker. He gained international recognition for his standout performance in the Oscar-winning drama “A Separation”, directed by Asghar Farhadi. His portrayal in this film earned him the Silver Bear for Best Actor at the Berlin International Film Festival in 2011.

Maadi originally began his career as a screenwriter, quickly gaining national acclaim in Iran. His transition to acting was highlighted by his lead role in Farhadi’s critically acclaimed film “About Elly”, which won the Best Narrative Feature award at the Tribeca Film Festival. Established in 2001, the Marrakech International Film Festival seeks to promote the cinematic arts and encourage cultural exchange. By uniting artists from diverse creative backgrounds, the festival aims to foster a dialogue among various cultures and generations within the cinematic realm.
