The National Library and Archives of Iran (NLAI) is set to honor the legendary Norwegian playwright Henrik Ibsen in a special event titled “An Evening with Ibsen.” This significant occasion will take place in Tehran, showcasing Ibsen’s profound influence on modern theater and celebrating his literary contributions.

  • Ardeshir Salehpour, an Iranian researcher and university professor, will reflect on past efforts to honor Ibsen during the panel “A Review of Ibsen Commemoration Ceremonies in Iran.”
  • Nader Borhani Marand, an Iranian theater director, will introduce his latest staging of “The Wild Duck” and discuss Ibsen’s relevance in both Iranian and global theater.
  • Renowned Iranian theater actor and director Mikaeil Shahrestani will read selected excerpts from “An Enemy of the People.”
