Muslim Unity: A Powerful Stand Against Israeli Atrocities in the Region

During the recent 39th International Islamic Unity Conference held in Tehran, Pezeshkian emphasized the importance of Muslim unity in safeguarding their rights and preventing further atrocities, particularly in regions like Gaza. His call to action resonates strongly in today’s climate of discord and division among Islamic communities.

Pezeshkian stated, “If Muslims are united and avoid discord, the Zionists will never be able to carry out such crimes in Gaza and regional countries.” He reminded attendees of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), who prioritized brotherhood and cohesion among disparate tribes and communities, urging modern followers to uphold that legacy.

Highlighting the need for solidarity, he remarked, “If we truly are followers of the Prophet, we must, with our unity and solidarity, not allow the brutal Zionist regime to commit these crimes before the eyes of Muslims and the world.”

According to Pezeshkian, the core issue is not solely with external adversaries like Israel and the United States, but rather the rifts that exist within the Muslim community itself. He argued, “If the Islamic community were united, no power would dare encroach upon the rights of Muslims,” stressing that unity is the only path to victory.

In his remarks, he criticized the West’s double standards, asserting that even minor actions within the Islamic community are often misrepresented as human rights violations. He stated, “They accuse us of trampling on human rights, while their version of human rights does not spare children, women, and the elderly as they commit genocide. They know nothing of humanity.”

Pezeshkian further elaborated on how internal disputes among Muslims are exploited by external forces, particularly noting how these differences are leveraged to sell weapons to Islamic nations. He said, “While the West plunders Islamic countries’ oil and resources, it simultaneously fuels division and conflict.”

Reiterating his administration’s commitment to solidarity, Pezeshkian asserted, “We will not quarrel with any Muslim country. With full determination, we remain committed to the cohesion and unity of the Islamic community.” He expressed that Muslims across the region are intrinsically linked by fraternity, pledging the Islamic Republic’s brotherhood with “Iraqis, Palestinians, Egyptians, and all Muslims in the Islamic world.”

“We pledge brotherhood not just in words but in action. If this principle is truly embraced, neither America nor Israel will succeed in sowing discord among Islamic societies,” he proclaimed.

Reflecting on historical conflicts, Pezeshkian noted the twelve-day war waged by Israel and the U.S. against Iran, stating that their objectives failed largely due to Iran’s unity and resilience. He remarked, “Yes, we had missiles, strong and brave fighters who slapped the enemy hard. But the strongest slap came from the unity of the Islamic community, which frustrated them.”

Pezeshkian expressed gratitude towards Islamic nations for condemning Israeli actions, but underscored the need for even stronger, unified responses. He concluded, “It is a heavy responsibility on all of us, especially religious scholars, to bring dignity and honor to the Islamic community.”

  • Unity is Essential: Emphasizing the need for Muslims to come together to prevent injustices.
  • Critique of Western Double Standards: Highlighting hypocrisy in Western criticism of Muslim actions.
  • Fraternity Among Muslims: Affirming bonds with various Islamic nations.
  • Call for Action: Encouraging stronger, unified responses to global issues.

By fostering a sense of brotherhood and unity, Pezeshkian believes that the Islamic community can overcome the obstacles posed by external adversaries and internal divisions. The collective strength of Muslims, according to him, is not just a fundamental belief, but a practical strategy for ensuring their rights and dignity in the face of adversity.
