In an exciting development for Isfahan province, five travel agencies have been selected to showcase the region’s rich cultural and historical heritage at the Madrid International Fitur 2026 exhibition. This event is pivotal for promoting tourism and connecting with global audiences, according to Amir Karamzadeh, the tourism chief of Isfahan province.

Karamzadeh shared insights with ISNA, highlighting that FITUR, also known as the International Tourism Trade Fair, ranks as the second-largest tourism market globally, following ITB Berlin. The exhibition serves as a significant platform for countries to promote their tourism, culture, and history, while also fostering professional relationships within the international tourism sector.

He stated, “Active participation in Fitur not only enhances the foreign tourist market but also lays the groundwork for presenting a true and positive image of Iran to the world.” Here are some key points Karamzadeh discussed regarding the exhibition:

  • Investment Packages: Customized investment packages in Arabic and English are being prepared, along with specialized content in Spanish to be showcased at the Iranian pavilion.

However, Karamzadeh identified a significant challenge: “The biggest challenge we may face is the issue of Iranophobia. But with strategic presence, effective advertising, and leveraging the experiences of foreign tourists, we aim to gradually overcome this hurdle and present Iran’s authentic image to international audiences.”

Karamzadeh added that Fitur represents an excellent opportunity for enhancing international cooperation. He mentioned that B2B meetings will take place during the exhibition, and several memoranda of understanding will be signed between participating countries. The Minister of Cultural Heritage will also be present to facilitate interactions and collaborations.

“Isfahan agencies will have the chance to forge connections with foreign entities and establish fruitful partnerships aimed at attracting international tourists,” he noted. These agreements could significantly influence the growth of inbound tourism in Iran and open new markets for Isfahan.

Furthermore, Karamzadeh emphasized, “Currently, the momentum for attracting foreign tourists to Isfahan is on the rise, and we are dedicated to enhancing our foreign tourism marketing strategies. By developing visual content, targeted informational packages, and offering investment opportunities, our participation in Fitur 2026 will serve as a golden opportunity to promote Isfahan and expand international collaborations.”

He concluded, “Our ultimate goal is to position Isfahan as a premier destination for cultural, historical, and artistic tourism on the global stage. Our involvement in Fitur 2026 will pave the way for achieving this objective and create new prospects for advancing the provincial tourism economy.”
