Iranian General Praises China’s ‘Fair Stance’ and Strengthens Military Ties for Global Peace

In recent developments regarding international relations, a senior Iranian military official has praised China’s fair positions in condemning the aggressive actions perpetrated by Israel and the United States against Iran. This acknowledgment comes amidst escalating tensions in the region and highlights the significance of global alliances in maintaining peace.

Brigadier-General Mohammad Ahadi, who is the Chief of Defense Diplomacy and International Relations for the Iranian Armed Forces, made these remarks during a reception at the Chinese Embassy in Tehran. This event celebrated the 98th anniversary of the founding of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) and served as a platform for discussing the current geopolitical climate.

On June 13, Israel initiated a series of unprovoked attacks targeting various locations within Iran. These strikes were aimed at senior military officials, nuclear scientists, and civilians, resulting in a tragic loss of over 1,000 lives, including many women and children. This escalation was met with outrage and condemnation from various countries, including China.

Following these attacks, the United States joined the conflict on June 22, conducting airstrikes on three Iranian nuclear facilities. This military action was widely criticized for violating international laws, including the United Nations Charter and the Non-Proliferation Treaty.

In response to the aggression, Iran’s armed forces launched a decisive counteroffensive, striking key Israeli targets in cities such as Tel Aviv and Haifa. Additionally, Iranian forces targeted the al-Udeid Air Base in Qatar, which is the largest US military installation in the West Asia region. By June 24, this coordinated Iranian response effectively halted the joint assault by Israel and the US.

Brigadier-General Ahadi emphasized that Iran’s decisive action was a form of self-defense that compelled Israel and the US to request a ceasefire. However, he expressed skepticism about their promises, stating, “We do not trust their words in any way.” He reiterated that any further acts of aggression would elicit an even stronger response from Iran.

Furthermore, the Iranian official pointed out the ongoing military actions by Israel in the region, particularly the brutal campaign against Gaza that has been ongoing since October 2023. He stated, “For nearly two years, the world has witnessed a major humanitarian disaster in the Gaza Strip,” highlighting the widespread killing of civilians and the severe siege that has led to a humanitarian crisis characterized by starvation and violence.

Brigadier-General Ahadi noted that the Israeli offensive has resulted in the deaths of over 60,000 Palestinians and has pushed the region to the brink of famine. He also condemned Israeli assaults on neighboring countries, including Lebanon and Syria, and criticized the unwavering support provided by the US to Israel. He remarked, “The Zionist regime, under the unwavering support of some Western governments, especially the United States, has not been content with the Palestinian land, and its history is intertwined with aggression.”

In light of these developments, he underscored the growing military and strategic partnership between Iran and China. He expressed optimism about how this relationship could contribute to global stability and peace. “Relations between the two countries in various fields, especially military cooperation, are developing at a good pace,” he stated, suggesting that this partnership will play an increasingly significant role in global peace and security.

Brigadier-General Ahadi also referenced the leadership of Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, who has described China as an independent and reliable country. He noted President Xi Jinping’s commitment to expanding military relations between Iran and China, reinforcing the strategic partnership that both nations are pursuing.

“Without a doubt, the growth and prosperity of independent countries like China, which do not have an arrogant approach and propose and pursue initiatives for global peace and security, are beneficial to global peace and security,” he added, highlighting the importance of cooperative global relations.

In conclusion, the Iranian military official extended his best wishes to the Chinese people and the PLA, commending their path toward growth, progress, and excellence in international diplomacy. This ongoing dialogue between Iran and China reflects a significant shift in global alliances, with both nations advocating for a multipolar world where unilateralism is challenged and cooperative frameworks are embraced.
