Iran Welcomes 4.5 Million Tourists in Just Six Months, Reports Minister

Iran has emerged as a significant destination for health tourism, attracting close to 4.5 million tourists from various target countries during the first half of the current Iranian year, which spans from March to September 2025. This remarkable statistic was shared by Reza Salehi-Amiri, the Minister of Cultural Heritage, Tourism, and Handicrafts, during a recent Cabinet session attended by journalists.

Salehi-Amiri expressed optimism about the future of tourism in Iran, stating, “In October and November, we returned to normal conditions before the 12-day Israeli war, and this favorable situation has begun again,” as reported by the Mehr news agency. He further predicted a rise in tourist numbers by the end of the year compared to the previous year.

Among the various initiatives aimed at boosting tourism, the development of health tourism has been highlighted as a key priority for the Ministry of Tourism. The minister explained that a comprehensive medical tourism system is being designed in collaboration with several government entities, including:
