Iran Strengthens Diplomatic Bonds with Kyrgyzstan, Says Vice President

In recent years, Iran-Kyrgyzstan relations have strengthened significantly, showcasing a mutual commitment to enhancing ties between Tehran and Bishkek. During an official visit to Kyrgyzstan, Iran’s First Vice President Mohammad-Reza Aref emphasized this growing partnership.

Aref made these statements while meeting with Kyrgyz Prime Minister Adylbek Kasymaliev, where he highlighted several key aspects of the bilateral relationship:

  • The expansion of economic, trade, and transportation relations between Iran and Kyrgyzstan.
  • The importance of implementing existing agreements to foster cooperation.
  • Opportunities for deeper collaboration through participation in regional organizations like the SCO (Shanghai Cooperation Organization), ECO (Economic Cooperation Organization), and the Eurasian Economic Union.

During the meeting, Aref extended an invitation to Prime Minister Kasymaliev to attend the upcoming summit of Caspian Sea littoral states, scheduled to take place in Tehran on February 18. This invitation underscores the significance of regional cooperation.

In response, the Kyrgyz Prime Minister congratulated Iran on the anniversary of the 1979 Islamic Revolution, expressing his country’s commitment to strengthening relations with Tehran. He also conveyed hopes for increased Iranian investments in Kyrgyzstan, reflecting the shared interest in economic development and partnership.

The discussions between the two leaders mark a pivotal moment in Iran-Kyrgyzstan relations, setting the stage for future collaborations and mutual growth.
