Iran Set to Shine at Five International Tourism Fairs: A Gateway to Cultural Exploration!

Iran is set to showcase its vibrant tourism sector by participating in five major international tourism fairs across Iraq, Pakistan, Turkey, Azerbaijan, and Spain. This initiative, spearheaded by Moslem Shojaei, the director-general for marketing and foreign tourism development at the Ministry of Tourism, reflects the nation’s commitment to enhancing its tourism potential and restoring its global image.

Recently, Iran took part in the CITIE 2025 held in Guangzhou, China, from September 12-14, which marked the beginning of this ambitious plan. The upcoming events include:

  • Iraq Tourism Exhibition in Sulaymaniyah, November 2025
  • FITUR in Madrid, Spain, February 2026
  • EMITT in Istanbul, Turkey, February 2026
  • PTM in Karachi, Pakistan, April 2026
  • AITF in Baku, Azerbaijan, April 2026

According to the Mehr News Agency, Shojaei emphasized that these international tourism exhibitions serve as crucial marketing tools in the industry. They not only allow for the direct promotion of Iran’s tourism capabilities but also foster opportunities for:

  • Negotiation and collaboration among tourism stakeholders
  • Networking with international tourists and professionals
  • Establishing sustainable partnerships between public and private sectors

One of the significant aspects of this initiative is that the Iranian government will fully subsidize the costs associated with renting exhibition space and constructing booths at these six international fairs. Shojaei pointed out that the recent conflict, which lasted for 12 days and was instigated by the Zionist regime, had severely impacted the country’s tourism stakeholders. Given the pressing need to reintroduce Iran’s rich tourism offerings on an international stage, this initiative aims to rectify the country’s image and promote its tourism sector effectively. The Deputy Minister of Tourism has been proactive in creating opportunities that connect Iran with pivotal international tourism platforms, thereby supporting and advocating for the private tourism sector.

Reflecting on the success of the recent Guangzhou Exhibition, Shojaei noted, “Our presence at the Guangzhou International Tourism Exhibition (CITIE 2025) is a testament to the strategic actions being undertaken. This event, held in China from September 11 to 13, showcased Iran’s rich cultural heritage and tourism potential, supported by the Tourism Deputy and in collaboration with the Touring & Automobile Club of the Islamic Republic of Iran (TACI).”

The participation in these international events is expected to significantly enhance Iran’s visibility in the global tourism market.
