Iran Readies Support for Lebanon’s Reconstruction Efforts, Says Ambassador
The Iranian Ambassador to Beirut, Mojtaba Amani, has announced that the Islamic Republic is prepared to aid in the reconstruction of Lebanon in the wake of recent Israeli aggression. This commitment highlights Iran’s ongoing support for Lebanon, especially for those affected by conflict.
In an interview with Al-Jadeed TV, Amani expressed Iran’s intention to collaborate closely with the Lebanese government during the rebuilding efforts. He stated that Tehran aims to “take part in supporting the Lebanese people who were affected by the Israeli aggression and communicating with the international sides in this regard.”
Additionally, Amani addressed the recent incidents of explosions carried out by Israel across Lebanon in September of the previous year, which resulted in significant casualties. Key points he highlighted include:
- The explosions left thousands dead and injured, affecting countless families.
- Amani himself sustained an eye injury and was among 96 individuals transported to Tehran for medical treatment.
- The device that caused his injury was located in his office, intended to “warn of any attack.”
Regarding his recent summoning by the Lebanese Foreign Ministry, Amani clarified that it was related to a recent social media post but he was unable to attend the meeting, with no new date scheduled as of yet.
In a recent post on X, the Iranian envoy cautioned against what he termed Israeli and U.S. “conspiracy” concerning calls for the disarmament of Hezbollah. He noted:
“While the United States continues to supply the Zionist entity with the latest weapons and missiles, it prevents countries from arming and strengthening their armies, and pressures other countries to reduce or destroy their arsenals under various pretexts.”
This stance underscores Iran’s commitment to supporting Lebanon amidst ongoing regional tensions and highlights the complex dynamics involving international arms policies.
