Iran Expands Military Power Across All Domains: A Strategic Strengthening Initiative

In a significant development regarding military readiness and cooperation, Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari emphasized the importance of enhancing the Army’s air force and overall capabilities during the 4th International Military Medicine Conference of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states held in Tehran. His remarks highlight the ongoing commitment to maintaining a strong defense posture in the face of evolving threats.

During the conference’s opening ceremony, Sayyari stated, “Threats evolve constantly, and we must always be prepared. If we are strong and possess high deterrence, no one will dare infringe on our national interests.” This assertion underlines the Iranian military’s focus on being well-prepared to address any challenges that may arise.

The Rear Admiral also noted the importance of adhering to the guidance of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, who has consistently advocated for strengthening military capabilities across various domains. He remarked, “We must always move on this path and be prepared for future threats. Enhancing capabilities in ground forces, air force, air defense, navy, cyber, and all battlefields has always been on our agenda.”

Sayyari referenced the lessons learned from recent conflicts, particularly the 12-day war imposed by Israel, stating, “Much like during the COVID-19 crisis, the Army has applied the operational insights gained from the conflict.” He emphasized that any weaknesses identified during these confrontations have been actively addressed, ensuring the military’s readiness and resilience.

On June 13, the situation escalated when Israel launched an unprovoked attack on Iran, coinciding with ongoing nuclear negotiations between Tehran and Washington. This aggression resulted in a 12-day conflict that tragically claimed the lives of at least 1,064 individuals, including military personnel, nuclear scientists, and civilians.

Additionally, the involvement of the United States in the conflict was marked by airstrikes on three Iranian nuclear sites, which constituted a serious breach of international law. In retaliation, the Iranian Armed Forces targeted key strategic locations in the occupied territories, as well as the Al-Udeid airbase in Qatar, the largest American military base in the region.

Sayyari highlighted that through effective retaliatory operations against both the Israeli regime and the United States, Iran successfully imposed a cessation of hostilities by June 24. He conveyed confidence in Iran’s military readiness, stating that the armed forces have undergone rigorous assessments under real conditions.

“Iran’s current level of readiness is very high,” Sayyari affirmed, reinforcing the notion that strengthening combat capabilities remains a permanent strategic directive for the Iranian military. The commitment to ongoing improvements in military preparedness is evident in their proactive approach to defense.

During his comments on the SCO military medicine conference, Sayyari shared that the event, organized by the Army’s University of Medical Sciences, aimed to enhance health, treatment, and medical cooperation among member states, which include China, Russia, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Belarus, and Kazakhstan. This conference serves as a vital platform for exchanging military medical expertise and bolstering defense-related capabilities among SCO members.

Furthermore, Sayyari noted that Iran’s recent full membership in the SCO has significantly enhanced its stature within the organization, fostering greater cooperation and collaboration. He also pointed out Iran’s active involvement in other international defense forums, such as the Indian Ocean Naval Symposium (IONS), where Iran plays a crucial role in promoting maritime security in the northern Indian Ocean.

In summary, the remarks by Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari at the 4th International Military Medicine Conference underscore Iran’s unwavering commitment to military readiness and international cooperation. By continually upgrading its military capabilities and engaging with international partners, Iran aims to fortify its national security posture.

Through strategic initiatives and active participation in global defense dialogues, Iran seeks not only to protect its national interests but also to contribute to regional stability and security.
