Handicrafts Fair Soars to $1.1 Million in Sales Last Year, Reports Deputy Minister
TEHRAN–The vibrant world of Iranian handicrafts has recently made headlines with impressive sales figures. Deputy Minister of Handicrafts, Maryam Jalali-Dehkordi, announced that the 37th National Handicrafts Exhibition, held from November 13 to 16, 2024, at Tehran’s Permanent Fairgrounds, generated sales of one trillion rials (approximately $1.1 million). She noted that the event attracted over 1,000 participants and welcomed 80,000 visitors, leading to the conclusion of multiple international contracts.
“With the presence of all the key players and the strategic vision of the minister, the last exhibition underwent a structural and content transformation, setting a benchmark for future national events,” she stated. “We witnessed a real transformation in this exhibition; it became not only a sales arena but also a platform for showcasing Iran’s cultural power.”
