Gaza City Defies Odds with Unyielding Resistance

In a significant escalation of conflict, Palestinian resistance forces have launched a series of coordinated attacks against Israeli occupation forces (IOF) in Gaza City. This marked a decisive moment in the ongoing struggle as the al-Qassam Brigades, affiliated with Hamas, executed multiple operations aimed at thwarting the advancement of IOF troops in the region.

Recent reports indicate that the al-Qassam Brigades targeted various military assets, including an Israeli Merkava tank and several armored personnel carriers (APCs). These operations utilized advanced explosive devices, including “Yassin 105” and “TBG” shells, showcasing the tactical capabilities of the resistance forces.

• The al-Qassam Brigades released footage demonstrating their successful sniping of IOF soldiers and the destruction of armored vehicles.

In earlier reports, the al-Qassam Brigades confirmed that they had also engaged a Merkava 4 tank and a D9 bulldozer on Street 8 in southern al-Zaytoun, employing “Yassin 105” shells with precision.

Additionally, the al-Quds Brigades, in collaboration with the Abu Ali Mustafa Brigades, announced that they shelled gatherings of IOF soldiers and military vehicles located east of Gaza with mortar fire. Just a day prior, the al-Qassam Brigades disclosed targeting two Merkava tanks near Abu Hamid Roundabout in central Khan Younis. This was executed through the use of an improvised explosive device alongside two “Yassin 105” shells, further stressing the ongoing confrontations in the region.

The Al-Nasser Salah al-Din Brigades also reported engaging IOF troops and vehicles in northern Khan Younis with 60mm mortar shells, indicating a widespread resistance effort across multiple fronts. This concerted action by various Palestinian factions illustrates a unified approach to countering the Israeli occupation.

In light of the escalating situation, Palestinian political and resistance factions convened in Cairo to address the recent developments both politically and on the ground. They underscored their primary objectives:

• To advocate for an immediate and comprehensive ceasefire in the region.

Meanwhile, the humanitarian situation in Gaza continues to deteriorate under the Israeli occupation regime, which is reportedly executing a U.S.-backed campaign marked by widespread destruction and a dire humanitarian crisis. The latest figures from Gaza’s Ministry of Health reveal a staggering death toll exceeding 61,827, with injuries surpassing 155,275 since the escalation began in October 2023.
