In a recent address during the inauguration of the 18th International Tourism and Related Industries Exhibition in Tehran, Iranian President Pezeshkian highlighted the nation’s dedication to peaceful coexistence and the promotion of its rich tourism potential. This event, which brings together a diverse array of participants, aims to showcase Iran’s cultural heritage and hospitality.

During his speech, Pezeshkian stated, “Only in peace and harmony can we truly host and welcome each other.” He emphasized the notion that every visitor to Iran is considered an esteemed guest, reinforcing the country’s reputation for exceptional hospitality. “By the grace of God, we have close and deep relations with all our neighbors, and we will continue this closeness,” he added, showcasing Iran’s commitment to fostering good relations in the region.

The president also took the opportunity to address the misconceptions and false narratives that circulate about Iran. He remarked, “If people come and see for themselves, they will realize that what is said against Iran from certain tribunes is untrue. Iran has a friendly, loving, and humane people. Every corner of Iran is full of friendliness and harmony, and Iranian hospitality is exemplary.”

In a strong statement, Pezeshkian reiterated that Iran does not seek war, emphasizing the bond with neighboring countries. “We are not seeking war; our neighbors are our brothers,” he declared. He criticized those who engage in violence and provide weapons to fuel conflicts, stating, “Those who engage in bullying, massacres, and provision of weapons of mass destruction to those who kill innocent people are the ones initiating war and bloodshed.”

Pezeshkian also condemned the violence perpetrated by the Israeli regime against Palestinians, pointing out what he described as the hypocrisy of Western nations. “Those who kill tens and hundreds of innocent people and then claim to advocate human rights,” he said, “those who massacre the elderly, children, and women in Gaza and then speak of fighting terrorism … claim to bring security to the region, yet if they cease their massacres, security will naturally prevail.”

The president’s remarks reflect a broader commitment to restoring Iran’s position on the global stage. “We strive to restore Iran to its rightful position,” he affirmed, particularly in the context of enhancing the country’s tourism economy. He highlighted Iran’s wealth in civilization, development, art, and culture, stating that with the right infrastructure, Iran can present itself more accurately to the world.

“Travel and exchanges lead to growth, experience, unity, and human cohesion,” he added, underlining the importance of tourism in fostering international relationships.

The 18th International Tourism and Related Industries Exhibition is scheduled to take place from February 11 to 14 at the Tehran International Exhibition Center. This significant event will host representatives from 12 different countries, including:
