Celebrating Excellence: Khwarizmi International Award Winners Set to be Honored

The Khwarizmi International Award (KIA) is set to honor its winners in a prestigious ceremony tomorrow in Tehran, with President Masoud Pezeshkian in attendance. This event coincides with the 26th Khwarizmi Youth Award, underscoring the significance of scientific and technological advancements in today’s world.

This year, the KIA received an impressive total of 500 articles from 30 countries, showcasing a wide range of innovative ideas. From these submissions, nine outstanding articles will be recognized, including two authored by women. In addition, the Khwarizmi Youth Award has garnered 300 submissions, with nine notable articles selected, four of which are also authored by women. The submissions cover innovative, technical, and practical fields, as reported by IRNA.

Selected technical projects from the awards can be implemented in a workshop located within a science and technology park, promoting hands-on experience and practical application of these innovative ideas.

About the Khwarizmi International Award

The Khwarizmi International Award is a vital initiative that highlights the importance of a robust scientific and technological foundation for the economic development of nations. Following the Islamic Revolution, there was a growing emphasis on advancing science and technology within Iran.

In 1987, the Iranian Research Organization for Science and Technology (IROST), which operates under the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology, established this prestigious award. The award was created in honor of the remarkable Iranian mathematician and astronomer, Abu Jafar Mohammad Ibn Mousa Khwarizmi (770-840 C.E.), whose contributions to mathematics and science are well-remembered.
