Boosting Regional Prosperity: Iran-Saudi Arabia Strengthen Ties, Says Envoy
Strengthened ties between Iran and Saudi Arabia are essential for the stability and solidarity of the region. Iranian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Ali Reza Enayati, highlighted this notion during a recent ceremony in Riyadh, marking the 46th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution of Iran.
During his speech, Enayati emphasized several key points regarding the ongoing cooperation between the two neighboring countries:
- High-Ranking Attention: Iranian officials, including President Masoud Pezeshkian, are committed to enhancing relations with neighboring nations.
- Irreversible Path: The new communication channels established between Iran and Saudi Arabia over the past two years have solidified into an unchangeable course.
- Regional Benefits: Strengthening bilateral relations will not only serve the interests of Iran and Saudi Arabia but also enhance cooperation among Islamic countries.
Enayati also expressed gratitude to Saudi officials for their efforts in supporting Iranian pilgrims and Umrah performers, noting that:
- The number of pilgrims last season reached 90,000.
- Approximately 100,000 Iranians have already performed Umrah this year.
Highlighting the importance of dialogue, Enayati remarked on Iran’s commitment to fostering regional convergence. He stated that the Islamic Republic advocates for:
- The expansion of dialogue.
- The establishment of a unified vision for West Asia.
In addition to his remarks on cooperation, the ambassador condemned the actions of the Israeli regime against Palestinians, urging other nations to support the ongoing ceasefire in Gaza.
The commemoration event for the 46th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution was attended by a diverse group of individuals, including ambassadors, diplomats, heads of missions, representatives from international organizations, and military officials.
