Araqchi Sounds Alarm: Israeli Sabotage and Assassinations Threaten Diplomatic Efforts

In a recent statement, Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi has raised concerns about potential disruptions to ongoing negotiations between Iran and the United States regarding Iran’s nuclear activities. He warned that the Israeli regime, along with certain special interest groups, may attempt to “derail diplomacy” through acts of sabotage and assassination.

On Wednesday, Araqchi took to X to highlight the history of these tactics. He noted that previous operations by Israel aimed at provoking a response from Iran have made the situation precarious. He assured that Iran’s security services are prepared to address these threats:

“The attempts by the Israeli regime and certain special interest groups to derail diplomacy—using a variety of tactics—are abundantly clear for all to see,” he said. “Our security services are on high alert given past instances of attempted sabotage and assassination operations designed to provoke a legitimate response,” he added.

Additionally, Araqchi warned of a potential misinformation campaign intended to sway public opinion. This includes:

  • Fantastical claims about Iran’s nuclear intentions.
  • Use of misleading visuals, such as scary-looking satellite images of nuclear facilities.

He reiterated that Iran’s nuclear program is under the rigorous oversight of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), ensuring transparency and compliance with international standards.

As negotiations continue, it remains crucial for all parties involved to remain vigilant against tactics that could undermine diplomatic efforts.
