Iran is establishing age-friendly communities across 16 cities to improve the quality of life for its elderly population, which has risen to approximately 10.5%. The initiative, led by the Welfare Organization, aims to create supportive environments where age does not hinder well-being. Services offered include home care, counseling, and social support for around 6.5 million elderly individuals. A national document has been implemented to guide the development of these communities, focusing on transportation, social participation, and housing. Local collaboration is essential for success, as these efforts seek to foster inclusivity and enhance life for older citizens throughout Iran.
