Samineh Baghcheban, a prominent Iranian educator and advocate for deaf children’s education, passed away at 97 on September 17, 2023, in Tehran. She led the Baghcheban School for the Deaf, founded by her father, Jabbar Baghcheban, who pioneered early childhood education in Iran. Her funeral on September 19 was attended by former students.
