Discover Iran’s Hidden Tourism Treasures at Five Exciting International Fairs!

The Touring and Automobile Club of the Islamic Republic of Iran (TACI) is on a mission to enhance Iranian tourism and promote the nation’s rich cultural heritage. As part of its role, TACI has been tasked with organizing exhibitions that showcase Iran’s tourism and handicrafts abroad. This initiative plays a crucial role in not only celebrating Iran’s history but also in combating the prevalent issue of Iranophobia through cultural exchange.

According to a report by ILNA, Mohammad-Hossein Soufi, the CEO of TACI, has announced that the club aims to participate in a minimum of five international exhibitions this year. These events are strategically designed to highlight Iran’s captivating culture and historical significance, while also inviting tourists from around the globe to experience the beauty of the nation firsthand.

Soufi elaborated on the purpose of these exhibitions, stating: “This year, we are going to participate in five international exhibitions with the aim of confronting Iranophobia.” He emphasized that one of the primary objectives of TACI is to attract travelers who are eager to explore Iran’s ancient landmarks and heritage.

By showcasing the stunning landscapes and the extensive cultural tapestry of Iran, TACI aims to foster a deeper understanding of the nation’s harmony and national unity, as well as its development and progress over the years. Soufi highlighted the importance of making a significant presence at international events, particularly global fairs, as a means to introduce Iran to a wider audience.

Over the past year, TACI has been actively involved in various international fairs, and this year, the organization plans to expand its outreach even further. Soufi remarked, “This year, we will participate in at least five international exhibitions in Asia, Europe, neighboring countries, and Arab nations to introduce Iran’s history and civilization to the world and confront Iranophobia.”

  • International Participation: TACI is set to engage in multiple international exhibitions across various regions.
  • Promotion of Culture: The exhibitions will serve as a platform to promote Iran’s rich cultural heritage.
  • Combating Iranophobia: A key goal is to counter negative perceptions of Iran on the global stage.
  • Attracting Tourists: The aim is to draw international tourists interested in exploring Iran’s historical sites.

In addition to promoting tourism, TACI has a range of responsibilities that align with its mission. These include:

  1. Translating and converting national driving licenses into international driving licenses.
  2. Issuing transit plates and carnet de passage (customs clearance permits).
  3. Providing international ownership certificates and membership in global tourism and automobile organizations.
  4. Establishing Iranian tourism information offices both domestically and internationally.
  5. Launching recreational, cultural, and sports centers to enhance tourism experiences.
  6. Facilitating vehicle assistance services to support travelers on roads.
  7. Expanding tourism infrastructure through accommodations and rest stops.

TACI also plays a critical role in assisting tourists with their vehicles. As the sole authority in Iran responsible for issuing vehicle registration certificates and number plates for Iranians traveling abroad, TACI adheres to the guidelines set by the 1968 Vienna Convention on Road Traffic.

When asked about the statistics concerning the number of tourists entering Iran with their vehicles, Soufi noted that this information is not readily available to TACI. He explained, “Unfortunately, this information is not available to TACI, and only the Tourism Department or the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) are aware of the statistics.”

Soufi clarified that TACI’s responsibilities are primarily focused on the issuance of transit plates, international driving licenses, and vehicle ownership documentation. “The information on how many tourists have entered the country by car is available to the country’s customs, border terminals, and the Tourism Department. Therefore, the center does not have statistics on the number of cars that have entered the country and those that have left Iran,” he added.

In conclusion, TACI is dedicated to promoting Iran’s rich cultural heritage and combating negative stereotypes through international exhibitions. By engaging in global fairs and attracting tourists, TACI aims to showcase the nation’s beauty and historical significance. With a clear focus on enhancing tourism and assisting travelers, TACI continues to play a vital role in the growth of Iran’s tourism industry.
