Mauritania’s Envoy Declares Iran Among the World’s Safest Destinations

In a recent exclusive interview, Mauritania’s Ambassador to Tehran, Sayyid Muhammad Walid Muhammad al-Razi, has strongly dismissed the negative portrayal of Iran by Western media, emphasizing that the nation is among the safest places in the world.

“Iran is so safe that I have no desire to have bodyguards, and most of the time I make daily purchases alone,” Muhammad al-Razi stated, highlighting his personal experiences in Iran.

The ambassador reflected on his initial perceptions of Iran, which were largely shaped by Western media narratives. However, he noted that his actual experiences in the country have proven to be significantly different:

• The safety and security of Iran have left a lasting impression on him.
• He expressed a strong desire for economic and cultural collaborations between Mauritania and Iran.
• Efforts are already underway to enhance cooperation in various fields.

Moreover, al-Razi commended Iran’s resilience in the face of Western-imposed sanctions, stating, “the measures have not hindered Iran’s growth.” He emphasized that Mauritania is keen to benefit from Iran’s industrial knowledge and expertise.

Al-Razi also compared Iran’s development to that of several European countries, sharing that:

• During his time as a diplomat in Spain and visits to various European nations, he observed that Iran is more advanced than some European states.
• He pointed out that the Iranian populace conducts all financial transactions via debit cards or mobile phones, while many European countries still rely on cash.
