Iran Calls on Dutch Ambassador Amid Controversial Allegations

Tehran, IRNA – The Iranian Foreign Ministry has taken significant diplomatic action by summoning the Dutch Ambassador to Tehran, Emiel de Bont, in response to unfounded allegations made by the Dutch National Security Agency against the Islamic Republic of Iran.

During the meeting, Alireza Yousefi, the director-general for the Western Europe department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, addressed the situation directly.

Yousefi firmly rejected the claims made in the Dutch intelligence service’s annual report, emphasizing that:

  • The accusations of Iran’s involvement in assassination plots in the Netherlands are baseless.
  • The allegations are unacceptable from Iran’s perspective.

He urged the Dutch Foreign Ministry to:

  1. Adopt a professional and respectful approach in bilateral relations with Iran.
  2. Refrain from repeating unfounded and inappropriate accusations.
  3. Halt comprehensive support for the Israeli regime.
  4. Play a constructive role regarding developments in West Asia.

The Dutch ambassador assured that he would convey Iran’s strong protest to his government, highlighting the seriousness of the diplomatic exchange.
