Judiciary Chief Urges Unified Action to Combat Terrorist Groups

Judiciary Chief Gholam-Hossein Mohseni-Ejei emphasized the importance of collaboration among the justice systems of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states to effectively prosecute and punish terrorist groups and their supporters. This statement was made during the opening ceremony of the 20th Meeting of Chief Justices of the Supreme Courts of the SCO in Hangzhou, China, as reported by the Mizan news agency, which is affiliated with Iran’s Judiciary.

During his address, Mohseni-Ejei highlighted several critical points:

  • Terrorism’s Toll in Iran: He noted that over the past four decades, terrorist activities have resulted in the deaths of more than 23,000 innocent people in Iran.

To combat pressing issues such as human trafficking, drug smuggling, cyber-attacks, and border misconduct, Mohseni-Ejei proposed several measures aimed at enhancing judicial cooperation among SCO member states. Leading a high-ranking judicial delegation, Iran’s judiciary chief commenced his visit to China on Monday to participate in this vital meeting.
