Upcoming U.S. Talks: Araqchi Promises Announcement on Date Soon!

In recent developments regarding Iran-U.S. relations, Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi has announced that the date for the next round of negotiations will be revealed soon. These discussions are crucial for addressing key issues such as Iran’s nuclear program and the removal of sanctions.

During a press conference at the Tehran Dialogue Forum on Sunday, Araqchi shared insights into his discussions with the Omani foreign minister. He noted that these conversations covered a range of topics, including:

  • Regional issues
  • Bilateral relations
  • Ongoing negotiations with the United States

Araqchi stated, “We had very good discussions with the Omani foreign minister regarding regional issues, bilateral relations, as well as the ongoing talks with the United States. We reviewed the latest developments, and the next round of negotiations will likely be scheduled soon, though an official announcement will be made once finalized.”

He also highlighted that no written document has yet been received from the U.S., which underscores the fluid nature of the negotiations.

Since April 12, Iran and the U.S. have engaged in four rounds of talks, facilitated by Oman, aimed at reaching a comprehensive deal on:

  1. Iran’s nuclear program
  2. The lifting of sanctions on Tehran

The most recent round of discussions took place in Muscat on May 11, where Tehran described the meetings as difficult but useful.
