Turkish TV Host Celebrates the Empowering Role of Iranian Women in Society

İkbal Gürpınar has highlighted the vibrant culture and significant contributions of Iranian women in society. She has strongly criticized Western and Zionist media outlets for their misrepresentation of Iran on the global stage. In her discourse, she also addresses the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, showcasing her commitment to social and cultural issues. One of her notable actions includes selling her personal factory to provide humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza.

In an exclusive interview with Mehr News Agency, Gürpınar revealed important insights that encourage a deeper understanding of the truths surrounding these issues.

Q: Would you mind telling us about your experience traveling to Iran?

A: I spent two days in Tehran, where I toured the city and visited the 36th edition of the Tehran International Book Fair (TIBF). I was captivated by the beauty of Golestan Palace and my admiration for Iranian carpets grew at the Iran National Carpet Museum. I also purchased books by Hafez, a prominent Iranian poet. Persian is a deep and rich language, and I’ve found the Iranian people to be polite, kind, and hospitable. Contrary to the dangerous image portrayed by Western media, my visit revealed that women live freely in Iran, challenging my initial misconceptions.

Gürpınar continued to express how social media has played a crucial role in showcasing Iran’s beauty, despite the negative narratives propagated by some Western outlets. She noted, “My daughter-in-law was warmly welcomed as a guest of the Iranian government, which further solidified my desire to travel to Iran. The turquoise tiles of Iranian mosques have always fascinated me.”

She reflected on her experience at the Tehran International Book Fair, stating, “I was taken aback by the diversity and range of books available, something that is lacking in Turkey. The fair was bustling with visitors, highlighting the Iranian people’s commitment to literature and education.”

Gürpınar also emphasized the impact of Western narratives, suggesting that the reduced influx of tourists could be beneficial for preserving Iran’s cultural and artistic heritage. She mentioned, “While the West portrays Iran negatively to limit tourism, it inadvertently protects the country’s cultural treasures. The ongoing siege of Gaza has fostered a spirit of resilience among the people, and it may now be time to reveal Iran’s true essence and rich cultural heritage.”

Q: You mentioned the Palestinian issue. Why don’t we witness unity in the Islamic world on the issue of Palestine, while Islam is a religion of unity and amity?

A: It’s unfortunate that we don’t see the desired unity among Islamic nations regarding Gaza. The West’s false claims of freedom have eroded the sense of solidarity among Muslim countries. The Prophet Muhammad (S) warned us to be cautious of those who do not revere God. Historical events, like the reign of Abdul Hamid II, show that the enemies of faith aim to undermine the beliefs of a nation before they can conquer it.

She further criticized the Western portrayal of human rights, arguing that while they mourn the loss of a single life, they remain silent on the deaths of thousands in Gaza. “The awakening among the people contrasts sharply with the indifference of their leaders. God commands us to protect Al-Aqsa Mosque, which encompasses Gaza. True peace in Al-Aqsa means peace in Gaza, and achieving this requires Islamic unity and a cohesive Islamic force.”

Gürpınar spoke highly of the resilience of the people in Gaza, stating, “They not only recite the Holy Quran but act upon its teachings. They understand the weight of their actions before God and strive to live honorably.” Her commitment to supporting Palestinian children is evident through her efforts, which include funding their education and Quran memorization classes.

Q: Any concluding remarks?

A: Life has taught me that nothing belongs solely to me. By placing God at the center of my life, I find favor in the hearts of others. I no longer seek people’s love, for divine love fosters connections among people. As it is said, those who give charity will never find themselves in want. I had planned to pay for my trip to Iran, but God graciously invited me instead.

In conclusion, İkbal Gürpınar’s insights shed light on the complexities surrounding Iran and Gaza, emphasizing the importance of unity and understanding in the face of adversity. Her experiences and reflections serve as a reminder of the rich cultural tapestry of Iran and the resilience of those affected by conflict.
