President Urges National Unity to Thwart U.S. Exploitation of Iranian Crisis

In a significant address, President Masoud Pezeshkian emphasized the crucial role of national unity in Iran, stating that the Americans will not be able to exploit the Iranian situation if they observe a sense of unity and empathy among the populace.

Pezeshkian made these remarks following a report presented by Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi on the fifth round of indirect Iran-U.S. talks during a cabinet meeting on Sunday afternoon.

The president highlighted several key points regarding the importance of unity:

  • Respectful Interaction: He stressed the need for maintaining respectful interactions at all levels.
  • Social Cohesion: Emphasized social cohesion, particularly within the health sector.
  • Improving Livelihoods: “We must work to improve the livelihood of the people,” Pezeshkian stated.

Additionally, Pezeshkian called for the expansion and strengthening of relations with both regional and global partners. He remarked, “We are well capable of solving our domestic problems,” suggesting that many issues could be addressed through enhanced cooperation, particularly with neighboring countries.

During the cabinet meeting, Araqchi was among several ministers who provided updates on the latest developments within their departments. He has led five rounds of negotiations, including three in Muscat and two in Rome, alongside U.S. special envoy Steve Witkoff, with mediation from Omani Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr Al-Busaidi.

Overall, these discussions underscore the Iranian leadership’s commitment to fostering unity and collaboration both domestically and internationally.
