IRNA Unveils Bold New Strategies to Engage Fresh Audiences, Says CEO

In a rapidly evolving media landscape, attracting new audiences has become a critical focus for news agencies. Recently, Hossein Jaberi Ansari, the Managing Director of the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA), highlighted the urgency of revising media strategies to enhance audience engagement.

During a visit to the southern city of Bushehr on Wednesday, Jaberi Ansari addressed IRNA employees, emphasizing the necessity of strengthening IRNA’s presence in the competitive media market, both nationally and internationally. He outlined several key strategies for achieving this goal:

  • Understanding Audience Needs: Jaberi Ansari stressed that IRNA’s news productions must primarily reflect the societal needs of the audience.
  • Adaptability: It is crucial for IRNA to adapt to changing dynamics in order to attract new audiences while retaining its current base.
  • Diverse Perspectives: He pointed out that IRNA should not only echo government views or specific political trends.

Since taking over IRNA in September, Jaberi Ansari has set a clear objective: to restore IRNA’s status as the national news agency of Iran. He cautioned that the issues facing the country extend beyond politics and warned that excessive politicization could undermine both governance and media integrity.

“If IRNA cannot present itself as a national media within the framework of the president’s discourse and the program of national reconciliation, this goal will never be achieved,” he noted.

As the media landscape continues to evolve, the focus on audience engagement and the representation of diverse viewpoints will be essential for IRNA’s success.
