Iran’s Minister of Cultural Heritage, Seyyed Reza Salehi-Amiri, recently emphasized the importance of enhancing relations with Saudi Arabia, highlighting that such ties are beneficial for both nations. This statement was made during a ceremonial event celebrating Saudi National Day at the Espinas Palace Hotel in Tehran on Tuesday.

During his address, Salehi-Amiri expressed optimism regarding the future of Iranian-Saudi relations, stating, “We are optimistic about the relationship with Saudi Arabia in terms of having many common approaches and future interests, and we consider this relationship to be in the common interests of the two countries.”

The minister conveyed his pleasure at being part of the Saudi National Day celebrations, extending his congratulations to the Saudi ambassador and government. He remarked, “I congratulate the ambassador and the government of Saudi Arabia on this occasion and wish this country’s progress and prosperity.”

Salehi-Amiri acknowledged Saudi Arabia’s significant role in the Islamic world, particularly its responsibility as the host of the Two Holy Mosques. He noted, “Saudi Arabia is worthy of respect as the host of the Two Holy Mosques and a friend and brother to us.” He highlighted the participation of Iranians in religious pilgrimages, stating that last year, 86,000 Iranians performed Hajj rituals and over 200,000 performed Umrah.
