Iran and Russia Stand Firm Against Excessive Demands from Adversaries

In a recent statement, President Pezeshkian of Iran highlighted the nation’s commitment to fostering peace and collaboration with Russia. This emphasis on cooperation comes in light of the ongoing discussions about a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Agreement aimed at promoting tranquility, security, and economic development in the region.

During his visit to Russia, President Pezeshkian participated in an interview with Russia’s Channel 1 TV, where he elaborated on several key points regarding the partnership between the two nations.

  • Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Agreement: President Pezeshkian stressed the importance of this agreement, which aims to enhance security, political, and economic dialogues between Iran and Russia.
  • Areas of Cooperation: The partnership will focus on vital areas such as railways, roads, trade, energy, and electricity, aiming to deepen and expand mutual cooperation.

When asked about potential military actions from the United States or Israel against Iran, as well as the prospects for joint defense efforts between Iran and Russia, President Pezeshkian stated, “Under the terms of our agreement, if either Iran or Russia is attacked by another country, we are committed not to cooperate with the aggressor in any way, and we will not permit such an attack to occur.”

Furthermore, the President addressed the ongoing conflicts in Gaza and Lebanon, condemning the actions of the Zionist regime, which he noted are supported by the United States and Europe. He remarked, “No international framework or law permits any country to bomb and massacre innocent people, even during times of war, yet the Zionists do so with ease.”

Additionally, President Pezeshkian sought to clarify misconceptions surrounding Iran’s nuclear ambitions. He asserted, “The Zionist regime and its allies are trying to convince the world that Iran is pursuing a nuclear bomb and fostering Iranophobia. However, both the views of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution (Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei) and our policies are firmly grounded in the belief that we are not seeking nuclear weapons — we have not done so in the past, and we will not do so in the future.”

He highlighted the adversaries’ control over the media and their influence in banking and international power dynamics, stating that this allows them to manipulate public perception and exert pressure on global narratives. “If we unite and all countries that value freedom and independence come together, the totalitarianism and unilateralism of our enemies will be eliminated,” he emphasized.

President Pezeshkian’s remarks reflect a strong desire for peaceful relations and a commitment to regional stability. He concluded by stating, “We are not seeking war, bloodshed, or unrest; however, our adversaries aim to convince people around the world that we desire to develop an atomic bomb and we are the source of insecurity in the region.”

This interview marks a significant moment in Iran-Russia relations, showcasing a mutual understanding and commitment to work together for the greater good of their nations and the region at large.
