Discover Culture: Four Exciting Museums Launch Under Mostazafan Foundation

In an exciting development for cultural enthusiasts, four new museums have been inaugurated under the Mostazafan Foundation’s Dafineh Museum Group. This significant event marks a milestone in Iran’s rich cultural landscape, showcasing a commitment to preserving and promoting heritage. The launch ceremony took place at the Dafineh Museum complex, featuring Hamidreza Soleimani, CEO of the Dafineh Museums, along with various cultural enthusiasts and officials.

The newly inaugurated museums are part of the foundation’s expanding cultural portfolio and include:

  • Millennia of Art Museum in Kish Island
  • Third Phase of the Historical Cars Museum
  • Art Motifs Museum
  • Art Ornaments Museum in Ramsar

Additionally, the specialized Dafineh Library has reopened, further enriching the cultural offerings of the foundation.

Millennia of Art Museum in Kish

The Millennia of Art Museum, situated within a historic 900-square-meter building on Kish Island, has unveiled over 320 priceless artifacts. These artifacts span various historical periods and artistic styles, ranging from ancient civilizations to contemporary art, making them available to the public for the first time.

Museum of Historical Cars

The third phase of the Historical Cars Museum showcases 75 meticulously restored vintage automobiles. This impressive collection highlights the evolution of the automotive industry, both globally and within Iran, drawing significant interest from car enthusiasts and historians alike.

Art Motifs Museum

The Art Motifs Museum features 78 remarkable works, including paintings, ceramics, and exquisite tiles. These pieces provide a unique insight into Iran’s rich visual arts tradition, blending classical aesthetics with modern artistic expressions.

Art Ornaments Museum in Ramsar

Located within the Ramsar museum campus, the Art Ornaments Museum displays over 200 artifacts of jewelry and decorative objects, dating from approximately 3500 BCE to 500 years ago. These exhibits illustrate the incredible artistic skills and creativity of Iranian craftsmen throughout the centuries.

Specialized Dafineh Library

Alongside the museums, the Dafineh Library has reopened, boasting a collection of over 7,500 volumes focused on art, history, archaeology, and related fields. The library houses rare manuscripts dating back 130 years, meticulously restored for researchers and the public.

Hossein Dehghan, head of the Mostazafan Foundation, officially authorized the launch of these new cultural institutions on Sunday. Since their opening, there has been robust public interest, particularly at the Ramsar, Classic Cars, and Kish Island locations. Visitors can enjoy two weeks of free admission, as noted by Soleimani.

Plans for Iran’s First Digital Museum

Soleimani also announced plans to establish Iran’s first digital museum in collaboration with a Tehran-based AI Institute. This innovative project aims to provide global access to Iranian cultural heritage through two main sections: one will showcase physical museum collections, while the other will present new works via virtual reality (VR) and 3D technology, offering an immersive virtual museum experience.

Additionally, a specialized encyclopedia-style catalog of the Millennia of Art Museum’s collection will be unveiled next week, with a presentation copy set to be delivered to the foundation’s leadership.

Community Participation Welcomed

Soleimani emphasized the importance of public involvement in enriching museum collections. He noted recent donations of ancient pottery from Yazd residents, stating, “All contributions undergo authenticity verification and are registered under the donor’s name. Owners retain the right to reclaim their artifacts if desired, following directives from Dr. Dehghan.”

The Mostazafan Foundation, which is dedicated to providing social services for millions in Iran, manages the Dafineh Museums Group as part of its cultural and heritage preservation efforts. The foundation’s mission is deeply rooted in empowering the oppressed (mostazafan) through access to culture and history.

With the inauguration of these museums, the Mostazafan Foundation is not only enhancing the cultural landscape of Iran but also fostering a greater appreciation for the nation’s rich heritage among both locals and visitors alike.
