The Iranian short documentary “Karun – The Longest River of Iran,” directed by Sahand Sarhaddi, has received acclaim at the 11th Apricot Tree International Documentary Film Festival in Yerevan, Armenia. The poignant 19-minute film recounts the tragic story of poet Hamid Hajizadeh and his son, who were murdered in 1998. It uses survivor testimonies and evocative imagery to portray this politically charged event. The festival showcased 20 documentaries from 17 countries, with “Karun” among the award winners.
