Mohammad Sadegh Ghannadzadeh, Deputy Chief of Iran’s Trade Promotion Organization (TPOI), emphasized the importance of non-oil trade for the country’s economic strategy. From March 21 to October 22, 2025, non-oil exports reached $32 billion, while imports totaled around $34.5 billion, indicating a strong domestic demand. Ghannadzadeh expressed optimism about increasing exports before the Iranian calendar year ends on March 20, 2026, and highlighted efforts to strengthen trade ties through agreements with regional partners, including Oman, Kuwait, Qatar, and the UAE. Key export markets include China, Iraq, and Afghanistan, reflecting Iran’s strategy to diversify its economy and reduce oil dependency.
