The Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS) is deploying 8,200 rescue workers to support pilgrims during the Arbaeen pilgrimage in Iraq, which commemorates Imam Hussein’s martyrdom on August 14. Currently, 7,000 IRCS personnel are stationed along the Najaf-Karbala route, providing medical services through four hospitals and increased voluntary stations. The IRCS has also launched a mobile app for free health consultations. The 5th International Congress on “Health in Arbaeen” in Tehran focused on healthcare for pilgrims, addressing potential diseases.
