Empowering Kids: How Digital Education Shields Against Cyber Threats

In a groundbreaking initiative, the Welfare Organization is set to launch a digital education project across 11 provinces in Iran. This program aims to enhance digital skills among children and young adults while safeguarding them from potential cyber threats. According to Abdol-Reza Asadi, an official with the Welfare Organization, the need for awareness and education regarding cyber risks is more crucial than ever. He emphasized the importance of fostering effective communication between parents and teenagers, especially in the digital realm.

Key Aspects of the Digital Education Project

Here are some of the main components of the digital education project:

  • Target Audience: The program will benefit 8,000 teenagers and their parents across 11 of Iran’s 31 provinces.
  • Collaborative Efforts: The initiative is being implemented in partnership with the Ministry of Education, the Supreme Council of Cyberspace, the country’s cyber police (FATA), and the Judiciary.

In addition to the digital education project, the Iran Digital initiative launched its first phase in June, focusing on free artificial intelligence (AI) training. This national program targets two million junior high school students and 1,000 teachers, providing them with essential knowledge about AI.

Abdolhossein Bahrami, an official with the Vice Presidency for Science, Technology, and Knowledge-Based Economy, stated that once students complete the introductory courses, they will explore different functional areas of AI and engage in practical projects.

During the opening session, which included directors from the Ministry of Education and heads of junior high schools, Bahrami emphasized the importance of AI education:
