Iran UN Envoy Accuses Israeli PM of Deception to Conceal Crimes at UN Assembly

On September 26, during the UN General Assembly, the representative of Iran exercised the nation’s right of reply, responding to what they termed a “web of ridiculous lies and bogus accusations” from the Israeli Prime Minister. This high-profile address highlighted significant concerns regarding international justice and the ongoing conflict in the region.

In the Name of God, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful

Madam President,

It is unfortunate for the United Nations, for humanity, and for the cause of justice that an individual who is “wanted” by the International Criminal Court has been given the opportunity to address this esteemed body.

An individual who “bathes in the blood of innocent children” should not be allowed to speak before the United Nations—an institution dedicated to maintaining international peace and security. This situation represents a grave disservice to peace, justice, humanity, and morality.

The Iranian representative emphasized:

  • It is absurd that a regime that consistently violates the principles of this Organization is permitted to lecture its members instead of facing expulsion under Article 6 of the UN Charter.
  • Why should we pay attention to the address of a regime whose actions are directly opposed to the values upheld by the United Nations?

The speaker asserted that the Israeli regime is fundamentally built on:

  • Aggression
  • Occupation
  • Oppression
  • Apardheid
  • Terror

From its inception until now, this regime has engaged in numerous wars, invading not only neighboring countries but also extending its reach throughout the region. In the last two years alone, it has invaded:

  1. Gaza
  2. The West Bank
  3. Lebanon
  4. Syria
  5. Yemen
  6. Iran
  7. Qatar

Moreover, the representative noted the recent declaration by the Israeli Prime Minister regarding the creation of Greater Israel, a plan that would require the invasion of at least four additional countries.

With such a troubling record, the Iranian representative posed a crucial question: “Who is the true, principal enemy of peace and the primary source of insecurity and instability in West Asia?” Additionally, they raised concerns about the regime’s conduct as a genuine threat to peace.

Last year, the Iranian delegation cautioned that if the Israeli regime was not held accountable, further aggressions would occur. Unfortunately, this warning went unheeded.

The speaker reiterated that if left unchecked, the Zionist regime would not hesitate to escalate tensions across the region, urging:

  • The international community must compel this regime to cease all attacks on Gaza, the West Bank, Lebanon, Syria, Yemen, and other areas immediately.

This Organization bears the responsibility to act decisively; failure to do so would only embolden the regime to commit more heinous acts.

Over the past two years, this apartheid regime, which embodies a racist ideology, has resulted in the deaths of more than 65,000 innocent Palestinian civilians and wounded nearly 180,000 others in Gaza. The representative condemned the use of starvation as a method of warfare and the forced displacement of Palestinians as part of genocidal actions, particularly in Gaza.

Furthermore, Palestinian civilians in the West Bank experience daily violence and crimes committed by the Israeli regime. The speaker expressed concern that the Zionists view themselves as a superior ethnicity, regarding the indigenous Palestinians as “human animals” that must be eradicated.

To conceal its atrocities and erase the history of genocide, the regime has made significant efforts to silence dissent. In the past two years alone, it has killed nearly 250 journalists, surpassing the combined total of journalists killed during significant historical conflicts, including the U.S. Civil War and both World Wars.

This ongoing violence raises alarms regarding freedom of the press and the right to information worldwide.

Madam President,

One notable example of Israeli aggression is its 12-day attack on Iran in June 2025, which resulted in the deaths of over 1,000 Iranian scientists, high-ranking officials, and civilians, including more than 170 women and children. Such actions constitute serious violations of international law, particularly the prohibition against the use of force, as enshrined in the UN Charter.

The representative pointed out that these aggressions are based on unfounded claims regarding the peaceful nature of Iran’s nuclear program, a narrative perpetuated by Israeli officials for over 30 years. Despite these claims, there has been no evidence from the International Atomic Energy Agency indicating any diversion of nuclear materials by Iran for weaponization.

Moreover, these fabrications have not been supported by the United States, despite Israel’s ongoing aggression against Iran. A New York Times article published on June 19, 2025, titled “U.S. Spy Agencies Assess Iran Remains Undecided on Building a Bomb,” corroborates this stance.

It is vital to recognize that Israel’s clandestine nuclear weapons program and its arsenal pose the real threat to regional and global peace.

In response to the latest accusations from the Israeli regime, the Iranian representative firmly rejected all claims, labeling them as attempts to distract from the regime’s numerous crimes, including war crimes, genocide, and crimes against humanity. Such acts have been systematic and brutal.

Brutality, deception, and duplicity are ingrained in the fabric of the Israeli regime’s operations, which the representative described as “Weapons of Mass Deception.” No amount of disinformation can obscure the unlawful and inhumane actions committed by this regime over the past two years.

In conclusion, the Islamic Republic of Iran stands resolutely in support of the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination and to resist aggression using all available means. Additionally, Iran asserts its commitment to defending its territory and vital interests against any acts of aggression.

It is imperative that the international community recognizes and acts upon these pressing issues to promote peace and security in the region and beyond.
