Hamas Leader Declares: ‘Palestinians Have Triumphed Over Their Occupiers’

In a significant address, Khalil al-Hayya, the Hamas leader in the Gaza Strip, proclaimed that the Palestinian resistance has achieved its objectives through Operation al-Aqsa Storm. This operation has notably challenged the perception of the occupation as an unstoppable force, showcasing the resilience and determination of the Palestinian people.

During his speech, al-Hayya emphasized the following key points:

  • The operation has “humiliated the occupation entity,” effectively shattering its reputation.
  • He stated that defeating the occupation is now a realistic goal, with the complete liberation of Palestine “within reach.”
  • Al-Hayya announced that the resistance will honor the martyrdom of several prominent leaders following the conclusion of the fighting.
  • He expressed pride in the new generation of leaders who will continue the struggle towards al-Quds (Jerusalem) and al-Aqsa, ensuring a path for the great return of the Palestinian people.

He added that Hamas leaders are “at the forefront of the martyrs,” standing united with their people in the trenches, sharing in their sacrifices and blood. Al-Hayya remarked that these leaders willingly gave their lives in pursuit of a free and proud Palestine, stating, “History will record that the heroes of al-Qassam Brigades and resistance brought the enemy to its knees.”

Al-Hayya paid special homage to martyr Mohammed Deif, describing him as “the inspiring leader of holy war and resistance.” He noted that Deif was a figure revered by many who chanted his name without ever seeing his face. Al-Hayya highlighted how Deif’s name instilled fear in the hearts of the enemy, as he lived a life dedicated to outsmarting those who hunted him for over three decades.

“When Hamas had neither rifles nor bullets,” al-Hayya continued, “Deif began his journey with only a clear vision and unwavering determination.” He, along with his brothers—both living and martyred—successfully built the Al-Qassam Brigades into a formidable force, achieving feats that many global armies could not match.

Al-Hayya emphasized the capabilities of this army, stating, “It strikes the enemy without hesitation, breaches borders, and fights heroic battles, relying on steadfast, visionary, and ideologically committed fighters.” This army is supported by a society that is ready to sacrifice everything for their freedom and independence.

Additionally, al-Hayya honored martyr Ismail Haniyeh, referring to him as “the nation’s loss and a great national symbol.” He described Haniyeh as calm and wise, yet behind his peaceful demeanor lay the spirit of a revolutionary fighter. The tribute also included martyr Yahya Sinwar, whom he called “the master of the storm,” a pivotal figure in Hamas and Palestinian history, embodying the fight against oppression.

Al-Hayya also remembered martyr Saleh Al-Arouri as a fighter who played crucial roles both inside and outside prisons. His efforts helped establish the Al-Qassam Brigades in the West Bank and revived the spirit of resistance in the region.

In his tribute to these fallen leaders, al-Hayya recognized the importance of their legacy. He stated that they left behind a generation imbued with the teachings of the Quran and the battlefields of holy war. This new generation is equipped with the awareness, understanding, and determination necessary to carry forward the mission initiated by the founding leaders, led by Sheikh Ahmed Yassin.

As the speech concluded, al-Hayya’s words resonated with the audience, reinforcing the commitment to the Palestinian cause and the ongoing struggle for liberation. His message encapsulated a sense of hope and determination, urging the people to continue their fight for a free and dignified existence.
