Iran and Afghanistan Unite on Border Security Strategy, Says FM Araghchi
In a recent development regarding border security and diplomatic relations, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi highlighted the significance of cooperation between Iran and Afghanistan. During his visit to Kabul, he engaged in discussions aimed at enhancing the security of their shared border.
At a press conference following his meetings, Araghchi elaborated on the topics addressed during his discussions with Afghan officials. Key points included:

During a meeting with the Shia Ulema Council of Afghanistan, he acknowledged the important role that Shia scholars play in promoting cultural and religious development within Afghanistan. He stressed the necessity of fostering friendship among various ethnic and religious communities.
In response, members of the Shia Ulema Council expressed their gratitude to Iran for its long-standing support of Afghan expatriates over the past 45 years. They particularly appreciated the educational opportunities provided within Iranian schools and universities.
The council members also welcomed the strengthening of bilateral ties, highlighting the importance of developing scientific and cultural exchanges between Shia and Sunni scholars of both nations as a means to promote Islamic unity.
