IRNA and Qatar’s QNA Forge Strategic Media Partnership with New MoU Signing

In a significant step toward enhancing media collaboration, Hossein Jaberi-Ansari, CEO of the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA), and Ahmed bin Saeed Al Rumaihi, Director-General of Qatar News Agency (QNA), have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU). This agreement is set to improve cooperation and news exchange between their agencies.

The meeting took place in Doha, where both officials emphasized the vital role of expanding media collaboration between Iran and Qatar’s official news agencies. The MoU is designed to:

  • Strengthen news-sharing efforts between IRNA and QNA.
  • Foster greater coordination in media affairs.
  • Facilitate the exchange of news, images, and video content.
  • Support journalists and correspondents from both countries in each other’s territories.

The signing ceremony was attended by Ali Salehabadi, the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Qatar, along with officials from both news agencies. During the event, the heads of the Iranian and Qatari news agencies highlighted the strong Tehran-Doha relations and stressed the importance of implementing the MoU’s provisions across various areas of cooperation.

After the signing, Jaberi-Ansari toured various sections of QNA, gaining insights into its ongoing projects, particularly in the fields of education and artificial intelligence. He also visited QNA’s training center and technical department, further solidifying the collaborative spirit encouraged by the MoU.
