Iran and Pakistan Unite to Boost Border Security Cooperation: A Strategic Partnership

In a significant diplomatic engagement, the Chief of Staff of Iran’s Armed Forces, Major General Mohammad Bagheri, and Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir Ahmed Shah have underscored the urgent need for enhanced collaboration to combat terrorism and bolster border security between Iran and Pakistan.

During his official visit to Pakistan, General Bagheri met with General Munir in Islamabad, where they focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation and addressing pressing regional and international issues.

  • Support for Gaza: General Bagheri expressed appreciation for the Pakistani government’s and people’s robust support for Gaza.
  • Condemnation of Aggression: He praised Pakistan’s strong stance against the Israeli regime’s aggression towards Iran.

  • Border Security Measures: Iran has initiated steps to secure its borders with Pakistan, ensuring that all movements occur through official crossings.

General Munir highlighted the ongoing defense and military discussions aimed at enhancing border security, noting that Pakistan is implementing essential measures to prevent terrorist movements.

He stated, “Iran and Pakistan are at the center of this threat. Therefore, we need to strengthen our relations to achieve sustainable security along the border with Iran.”

Furthermore, the Pakistani side extended an invitation to Iran to participate in upcoming international naval exercises in Karachi. Major General Bagheri responded positively, indicating Iran’s readiness to engage in joint naval drills with Pakistan.

The discussions reflect a mutual commitment to foster stronger ties and ensure safety and stability in the region.
