Boosting Prosperity: Pezeshkian Highlights the Power of Enhanced Cooperation Among Islamic Nations

President Masoud Pezeshkian has expressed Iran’s readiness to strengthen its ties with Islamic countries, emphasizing that enhanced cooperation among these nations can help them overcome their differences and achieve mutual prosperity.

The president made this statement on Wednesday during a meeting with Malaysia’s Foreign Minister Dato’ Seri Utama Haji Mohamad Bin Haji Hasan, who had arrived in Tehran the previous day.

In light of the current global circumstances, Pezeshkian stressed the importance of improving relations among Islamic nations. According to a press release from the official website of the Iranian presidency, he stated:

  • Enhanced cooperation: Officials and politicians from Islamic countries can work together to resolve disputes and misunderstandings.
  • Poverty alleviation: Strengthening ties can help eliminate poverty and deprivation within these nations.
  • Development readiness: Iran is prepared to develop relations with Islamic countries, including Malaysia, across all sectors.

Pezeshkian also attributed ongoing Israeli aggression in the West Asia region to the “indifference among Muslims.”

On the other hand, the Malaysian foreign minister articulated that Iran and Malaysia share similar positions regarding regional and international issues, particularly concerning Palestine. Haji Hasan remarked:

  • Condemnation of violence: Both Malaysia and Iran denounce Israel’s actions against Palestinians in Gaza.
  • Opposition to displacement: They oppose any attempts to forcibly displace Palestinians from their land, referencing U.S. President Donald Trump’s controversial plans.

Furthermore, the Malaysian diplomat reiterated his country’s commitment to enhancing cooperation with Iran in various fields such as:

  1. Science and technology
  2. Industry
  3. Agriculture

This meeting marks a significant step towards fostering stronger relations between Iran and Malaysia, highlighting the shared commitment to addressing common challenges facing Islamic nations.
